Regarding the decision of the Constitutional Court to maintain in prison (in spite of having completed three fourths of their sentences) Arnaldo Otegi, Miren Zabaleta, Arkaitz Rodriguez and Sonia Jacinto, Sortu wishes to transmit the following reflections:

• All the decisions that are being adopted in the Bateragune summary, from the first to this last one, are legally inexplicable, they cut the fundamental rights that belong to those convicted and they are only understood from the political impulse fostered by the enemies of peace who are those that design and execute each one of the steps that are being taken in this case.
• What is the objective of the enemies of peace? They seek with all the tools that are in their hands to collapse and destroy the peace process put in march by the Abertzale Left and the whole of the sovereigntist movement. This is the objective and those who manage the agenda are Rajoy and Rubalcaba, the PP and the PSOE go hand in hand in this task.
• They have a true dread of peace and they seek to put spokes in the wheels in the process in those areas, in the prisons, in the Spanish National Court, through repression... All with the unique objective of impeding the advance of this new time open in our country that they fear because they don't have a democratic offer to make.
• There is no strength, however, behind this attitude of persecution and cruelty, but an extreme weakness which for some time has been evident in our country that each time in more of a majority way demands to break the ties with this rotten state.
• The enemies of peace in Ireland as well as here can do a lot of damage but they can't stop or condition the commitment to recover all the rights that belong to us as a people. They lost this battle before it began.
• Finally, from Sortu we demand the immediate release of all those convicted in the so-called Bateragune case and the end of all the legal framework of exception that they continue practising to condition the process and the promoters of it, and in the same sense, and in a greater way, the immediate end of the dispersion policy and the cruelty and revenge that is maintained against the seriously ill prisoners.
