The representatives of SORTU Gorka Elejabarrieta and Igor Zulaika have been present in the presentation of the recommendations of the Social Forum that took place in the British Parliament.
The presentation has been organized by the "All-Party Parliamentary Group on Conflict Issues" and was presided by the liberal democrat Lord Aderdice, who was president of Assembly in the North of Ireland between 1998 and 2004.
The recommendations of the Social Forum were presented by Paul Rios, Coordinator of Lokarri, and Andy Carl, director of Conciliation Resources and one of the international experts who took part in the Social Forum and in the writing of the recommendations.
After the presentation of the recommendations, those present, among who were various parliamentarians, university professors and members of various organizations specializing in the resolution of conflicts, had an interesting debate in which they heard interesting contributions to be able to advance in the resolution of the conflict.
Gorka Elejabarrieta, responsible for International Relations for SORTU, also spoke in this exchange of ideas and again remarked that SORTU considers these recommendations to be valid for the resolution process to advance and will take part in all of the initiatives that try to put these recommendations in practice.
He also remarked on the importance of the commitment and participation of the international community in the writing of these recommendations as well as in organizing encounters such as today, in different institutions and local and international organizations to present and share these recommendations.
