Sortu, the political party of the Basque Pro-independence Left is pleased to be able to congratulate you on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the foundation of the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine.

Reaching such a landmark was not easy, and we are aware of the sufferings of your people and your members for so many years. However, as they say, the only struggle that is truly lost is that which is not fought so the very fact that you are now celebrating this 50th anniversary is testament to the will of the Palestinian people to strive for democracy, human and national rights and justice. We remember the many times the Basque and Palestinian struggles have met and recognized each other over the years, as well as the feeling of mutual solidarity and comradeship. We remember on this day our prisoners and martyrs.

We hope to convey, through this message, our solidarity and fraternal greetings and look forward to a future of peace and justice in Palestine, the Basque Country and for all the peoples of the world.
