An ample majority of South Africans have once again given their support to the ANC, just as they have done in the five elections held in the past twenty years.

It's become clear that a wide majority of South Africans want the ANC to continue governing, 63% trust the National Liberation Movement as an instrument to confront the problems that South Africa is going through.

Twenty years ago the ANC achieved the right to vote for all South Africans. In these twenty years they have worked to achieve the rights covered in the Freedom Charter. There is still a lot to do, with nearly 500 years of colonialism and decades of Apartheid, things can't be changed around immediately but they are working on it.

The South African people have deposited their confidence in the ANC and have given them the mission of confronting the problems and challenges that South Africa has. We are certain that in spite of the difficulties the ANC, just as it has done in these past 100 years, will continue working in favour of the common people, who are the majority in South Africa, and will respond to the problems and challenges of South African society with the revolutionary honesty that has characterized them. The party of Luthuli, Tambo, Sisulu and Mandela is more alive than ever.

From Sortu, from the Basque Country our most heartfelt congratulations to the ANC and our promotion of solidarity on the path to building a more just South Africa.
