We want to convey our warmest greetings to the Kurdish people, and specially to Kurdish women, on behalf of the Basque abertzale and socialist political movement Sortu.

This month will mark the second anniversary since the assassination of Sakine, Fidan and Leyla in Paris.

We denounced the attack against those Kurdish activists when it happened, as we denounced the attitude of the French state in front of this attack. On this second anniversary, we want to praise the memory of this three revolutionary women. It is very important to highlight that their sacrifice has not been in vain, as the struggle for freedom and democracy undertook by other women in Kobane shows us.

Two years have gone by since the assassination of Sakine, Fidan and Leyla, and no justice has been provided to their families and friends.

And every day that justice has been missing, the Shadow of the Turkish state has grown darker and longer.

The Turkish state has a very good opportunity to help building democracy in the middle east. resolving the Kurdish conflict. To do that, the Turkish State needs to stablish a dialogue, in good faith, with the representatives of the Kurdish people.

Our people, the Basque Country, has paid a very high price in repression. Sortu's Secretary General, Arnaldo Otegi, is still in prison, precisely, for promoting a democratic solution for our Country, a you do in Kurdistan.

Therefore we ask for the freedom of Arnaldo Otegi and the release of Basque political prisoners, we want to denounce the harsh imprisonment conditions of Kurdish prisoners and specially Abdullah Ochallan, Apo.

We would like to show our special support to the imprisoned women and send our warmest hug to the friends and relatives of prisoners.

The Basque Country and Kurdistan are far from each other, but there is an invisible link between our countries, the link of solidarity. A link that makes geographic distance shorter.

The women in Sortu believe that the women in Kurdistan and the Basque Country should build a strong link of solidarity, as with women in Sahara, Ireland, Colombia, South Africa or Palestine.

Therefore, we outstretch our hands for you, because your struggle to free yourselves, to build a fairer, more egalitarian society is also our struggle. Because we share objectives and therefore your struggle is our struggle.

Hold no doubt, each time we cry for the freedom of our Country, we remember the struggle for freedom and democracy of your people.
